## What routine care keeps a CR-V reliable?

The CR-V is a simple vehicle to maintain when the basics are on time:

- **Oil:** use the viscosity on the cap and follow the Maintenance Minder. Turbocharged CR-Vs deserve close attention to oil level.
- **Brakes:** measure pads yearly. Hybrid CR-Vs use regenerative braking, so pads last longer but calipers still need movement.

The CR-V has a strong reputation, and most of what we find is routine wear. Still, a few traits line up with particular eras, and knowing them tells us where to look first. None of these is a certainty on any single vehicle.

- **Early 2000s to 2011:** some owners reported AC compressor trouble. Older engines also benefit from valve adjustments where the schedule lists them.
- **2012 to 2016:** a CVT arrived partway through this run, and some owners of certain years described a vibration at idle.
