Our service guarantees cover how every job runs. You get a written estimate before work starts. We get your approval before any extra work. Your invoice matches the estimate you approved. If something is not right after a repair, we inspect it first and fix shop-caused issues. Parts and labor warranty terms are listed on your estimate.
Do you guarantee a written estimate before work?
Yes. No repair starts without a written estimate that lists parts, labor and any fees. You read it, ask questions, and approve the lines you want. If we cannot estimate a problem without testing first, we say so and put the testing on its own line before we begin.
This guarantee exists because surprise charges are the most common complaint drivers have about auto repair. When the number is on paper first, there is nothing to be surprised by. See the transparent pricing promise for how the estimate is built.
What happens if you find more work?
We stop and ask. If a technician finds a new problem during the job, we photograph it, explain it, write a revised number, and wait for your approval. If you say no, we finish the original job and note the new item for later.
What counts as extra work
- A part beyond what was on the approved estimate
- Added labor because a job turned out bigger than expected
- Any new fee that was not already listed
None of those get added without a second yes from you.
Will the invoice match the estimate?
It should. The invoice is built from the lines you approved. At pickup the advisor puts the two side by side with you. If the invoice is higher than what you approved and you did not agree to a revision, tell the advisor right away and we will correct it.
Taxes and shop items that apply to every job are listed on the estimate from the start, so they are not a surprise at the counter either.
How do you handle a comeback?
If something is not right after we worked on your vehicle, call (909) 608-7699 and bring it back. We start with a fresh inspection, not an argument. If the problem comes from our work, we fix it. If the inspection shows a different cause, we show you the evidence and give you a written estimate before doing anything.
We aim to keep the same advisor on your comeback so you do not have to explain the story twice, and the lead technician reviews the result. Each comeback is logged with its cause so we can learn from it.
How to report a problem
- Call the shop and describe what you are noticing.
- Bring the vehicle in and the invoice if you have it.
- We inspect, photograph and explain what we find.
- Shop-caused issues are corrected. Anything else gets a new estimate first.
What warranty comes with a repair?
Warranty terms depend on the part, the brand and the type of job, so they are listed on your estimate before you approve the work. That way you know the coverage while you are still deciding, not after.
We do not publish a single warranty length on this page because coverage varies. Ask the advisor to explain the terms on your estimate, and read more on the parts and warranties page. For new tires, see tire warranty inspection.
What can a shop not guarantee?
A shop cannot promise that nothing else will ever fail. A repair fixes the problem that was diagnosed. Other parts keep aging. A pre-purchase inspection is a snapshot of a vehicle's condition on the day it is inspected, not a warranty or a promise that nothing will fail later.
What we can guarantee is the process: you see it, you read it, you approve it, and the invoice matches.
How do the guarantees work step by step?
Each guarantee is tied to a step in the process, so it is checked every time instead of remembered when convenient. The estimate guarantee is checked before the bay. The approval guarantee is checked before any new part. The invoice guarantee is checked at the counter. The comeback guarantee starts with an inspection.
| Guarantee | When it is checked | What you can ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Written estimate first | Before work starts | A copy of the estimate |
| Approval before extras | When something new is found | The photo and revised number |
| Invoice matches | At pickup | A side-by-side review |
| Comebacks inspected first | When you return with a concern | The inspection findings |
If any step is skipped, point it out. The process is written down so you can hold us to it.
What should you bring if you need to come back?
Bring the vehicle, the invoice if you have it, and a clear description of what you are noticing. Notes like "the pull came back after two days" or "the noise is only on cold mornings" help the technician reproduce the problem quickly. Photos or a short phone video of a warning light or sound help too.
Comeback checklist
- Invoice or the date of the original visit
- When the problem happens and how often
- Any new warning lights
- Anything that changed since the repair, like a pothole hit or a tow
- The best number to reach you
The inspection comes first, and the result is shown to you before any decision about cost. See the brake safety guide for signs worth reporting after brake work.
Do the guarantees apply to U-Haul rentals?
Rentals follow U-Haul's own rental terms, and we explain them when you reserve. What we add on our side is the walkaround: fuel, cleanliness, lights and damage are checked with you at pickup and again at return, and the hitch is looked at before any trailer or towing gear leaves the lot.
If something about the equipment is not right at pickup, say so before you drive away so it is noted. Reservations are by phone at (909) 608-7699. The U-Haul FAQ page covers common rental questions.
