U‑Haul Truck and Trailer Rentals at a Tire and Repair Shop

This lot rents the main U-Haul equipment families and small businesses use: moving trucks, cargo vans, enclosed cargo trailers, open utility trailers, tow dollies and auto transport trailers. What is on the lot on a given day changes, so we confirm the exact unit when you call.

One conversation lets us match the size to your load, check whether your vehicle can pull the trailer you want, and set a pickup time that fits our hours. We do not post live availability online, so the call is the fastest way to a real answer.

Have these ready before you dial:

• Dates: the day you want to pick up and the day you plan to return.
• Type of move: in-town (back to this lot) or one-way (dropped in another city).
• Destination: the city you are heading to if it is one-way.
• The load: rooms, the biggest pieces, and any appliances.
• Tow vehicle: year, make and model, plus hitch details if you are renting a trailer or dolly.

Start with room count, then adjust for the big items. A 10-foot truck typically handles a studio or a light one-bedroom. A 15-foot truck is about right for one to two bedrooms, a 20-foot for about two to three, and a 26-foot for about three bedrooms and up. A garage, a patio set or a second fridge can push you up a size.

The most common mistake we hear about is booking the smallest truck to save money, then making a second trip across town. Measure the couch, the dresser and the doorway before you call. If the load is mostly boxes and you already own a capable vehicle, a cargo trailer can beat a too-small truck.

Before you drive off, we walk around the truck or trailer with you. The goal is simple: you and the counter agree on the condition at the start, so nobody argues about it at the end. Inherited reviews for this lot mentioned dirty trucks and low fuel, and the walkaround exists to stop that from happening again.

During the pickup walkaround we look at:

• Fuel level: noted on the paperwork so you know what to return it with.
• Cleanliness: the cargo box and cab should be swept and empty.
• Lights: headlights, brake lights and turn signals, plus trailer lights once connected.
• Damage: existing dents and scrapes, which you should photograph on your phone.
• Tires: a quick look at tread and inflation, because tires are our day job.

You also get a chance to adjust mirrors and seats and ask how the ramp or door works before you leave the lot.

Every trailer and tow dolly rental here comes with a hitch check. We look at the receiver, the ball size against the coupler, the pin and clip, the safety chain hookups and the light plug. If the lights do not work with the trailer connected, you do not leave until we know why.

We also explain tongue weight, which is how hard the loaded trailer presses down on the ball. Too little and the trailer can sway. Too much and the back of your vehicle squats and steering goes light. Because the vehicle doing the towing matters as much as the trailer. When you pick up a trailer or dolly here, we can check the tires and brakes on your tow vehicle in the same visit. Worn rear tires or thin brake pads are easy to miss until the load is on.

If we spot something, you get it in plain words and split into need and want. A tire with cords showing is a need before a loaded drive. A rotation that is a few hundred miles overdue can wait. Nothing gets worked on without your approval, and the estimate is written before any work starts.

In-town rentals

One-way rentals

One-way works when you are leaving the area. The drop-off location is set when the reservation is made, and you confirm it before you leave. The one-way rentals page lists what to photograph before a long drive.

A clean return is the mirror of a clean pickup. Bring the rental back with the fuel at the level on your paperwork, sweep out the cargo area, and remove your blankets, tape and trash. If we are open, we walk around it with you and close out the contract.

If you need to return outside business hours, ask about the 24-hour customer return option when you pick up. Return steps can differ by rental, so confirm the instructions for your specific rental at pickup rather than guessing that night. Take time-stamped photos of the fuel gauge, the odometer, all four sides and the empty cargo area before you walk away.

Book as early as your dates are firm, and earlier still if you are moving near the end of the month. Leases in the Inland Empire tend to turn over at month-end, and weekend trucks go first. A weekday pickup is often easier to schedule than a Saturday.

In summer, plan to load early. Afternoon heat on a metal cargo floor is hard on people and on anything that melts. If you are towing, a morning start also gives your tires and brakes a cooler run on the I-10 and SR-210.
