Mercedes-Benz Service for C-Class, GLC, GLE, and Sprinter

They are the two main maintenance visits in the Mercedes system, and they usually alternate. The dash tells you which one is due, sometimes with extra numbered items.

Exact contents vary by model and year, so check your maintenance booklet. We perform the listed items with approved parts and fluids, then reset the reminder where our equipment supports your car.

One with the MB approval number listed for your engine, such as an MB 229 series approval. The number is printed on qualifying oil bottles. Gas and diesel engines often need different approvals, and newer engines may require a newer one.

Using an oil without the approval can shorten engine life and cause trouble with diesel emissions parts. We match the approval by VIN and write it on your invoice. The European vehicles page explains why makers set their own oil standards.

Diesel care, brakes, tires, and a schedule that fits the business. Many Sprinters run diesel engines with a diesel particulate filter and DEF, which Mercedes calls AdBlue. Short trips and lots of idling can make the particulate filter work harder.

Sprinter checklist:

• Oil with the diesel MB approval
• Fuel filter and water separator at the listed interval
• DEF level before long routes
• Rear brakes and tires on loaded vans
• Suspension for sag from heavy upfits

Some Mercedes models use AIRMATIC air suspension, and many use 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Both change how we work on the car.

1. AIRMATIC cars need the right lift procedure so the system does not try to level the car in the air.
2. A corner that sits low after parking points to an air spring or line leak.
3. 4MATIC models want four tires of matching size and similar wear.
4. Staggered wheel setups on some models cannot rotate front to back.

We inspect ride height, listen for the compressor, and check tire matching before recommending anything.

We handle brakes with wear sensors, electronic parking brake service mode where supported, tires, alignment, suspension, cooling, many leaks, and battery replacement. Mercedes pads and rotors often wear together, and the sensor is replaced with the pads.

Mercedes changes engines, transmissions, and electronics between model generations. We look up your car by VIN before ordering parts, which also tells us which oil approval applies.

Some compact models have used a dual-clutch automatic in certain years, while most larger models use a conventional automatic. Each needs its own fluid and procedure.

Many Mercedes models leave the factory on tires marked MO on the sidewall, which means the tire was developed to Mercedes specifications. Some models use run-flat tires, and some AMG and sedan trims use different front and rear sizes.

Tire points we check:

• MO or run-flat markings, so replacements match your expectations.
• Staggered sizes, which rule out front-to-back rotation.
• Load index on GLS and Sprinter models.
• Inner edge wear from camber, common on performance trims.

Like BMW, Mercedes uses wheel bolts. A lug bolt locator or hanger pin helps hold the wheel in place, and many cars have a locking bolt with a key.

Before your visit:

1. Note whether the dash shows Service A or Service B.
2. Bring the locking bolt key.
3. Photograph any warning messages.
4. For Sprinters, tell us the upfit weight and typical route.
