Most U-Haul questions at our counter are about reserving, sizes, towing and returns. Reservations are by phone at (909) 608-7699. Sizes are matched to your actual load. Every trailer and dolly rental gets a hitch check. Fuel is returned at the level noted at pickup, and return steps for your rental are confirmed when you pick up.
How do reservations and hours work?
Reservations are by phone only. Call (909) 608-7699 to reserve. We do not offer online booking or live availability for U-Haul equipment at this location, because a short call lets us match the size and check your tow vehicle at the same time.
What are your hours for pickup?
Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. Sunday closed. For Saturday, call to confirm before you plan a pickup.
How early should I book?
As soon as your dates are set, and earlier for month-end weekends, which book up first.
What do I need to have ready?
Dates, in-town or one-way, destination, your load, and tow vehicle details for trailers. The reserve page lists everything.
How do I choose between sizes?
Start with your room count, then adjust for large furniture, appliances and the garage. Specs vary by unit, so we confirm current dimensions on the phone. Here are the short answers to the size questions we get most.
Which truck for a studio?
A cargo van or a 10-foot truck typically works.
Which truck for a two-bedroom?
Usually a 15-foot truck, or a 20-foot if there is a garage or a lot of large furniture.
Truck or trailer?
A trailer works when you already have a capable tow vehicle and the load is modest. A truck is simpler for full household moves.
Cargo trailer or utility trailer?
Cargo trailers are enclosed and protect furniture from sun, dust and rain. Utility trailers are open, which suits yard waste, lumber and mowers.
The which truck size page goes into detail.
What happens when I pick up?
We walk the rental with you. That walkaround covers fuel level, cleanliness, lights and existing damage, and you should photograph anything we note. It takes a few minutes and protects both sides.
What should I bring?
A valid driver's license for the driver and your payment details. We confirm anything else your rental needs when you reserve.
Will the truck be clean?
It should be swept and empty. If it is not, tell us at the walkaround before you leave.
Can someone else pick it up for me?
Ask when you reserve. The driver named on the rental should plan to be there.
What should I know about towing?
Every trailer and tow dolly rental here gets a free hitch check, and dolly renters also get a 60-second demo. We check the receiver, pin and clip, ball size, coupler latch, safety chains and trailer lights with the equipment connected.
Can my car pull a trailer?
It depends on the vehicle and the trailer. Tell us the year, make and model when you call, and we confirm whether the pairing works.
Can my car ride on a tow dolly?
Front-wheel-drive cars usually can. All-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles usually need an auto transport.
Can you check my tires before I tow?
Yes. We are a tire and repair shop, so we can check tread, pressure and brakes in the same visit. See the free towing inspection page.
How do returns, fuel and cleaning work?
Bring the rental back at the fuel level noted at pickup, swept out and empty of your things. During business hours we walk it with you and close the contract. After hours, follow the return steps you confirmed for your rental at pickup.
What if I am running late?
Call (909) 608-7699 during business hours before your return time, not after.
Can I return after hours?
Ask about the 24-hour customer return at pickup. See the 24-hour return page for what to photograph.
What if something broke?
Tell us. Call during business hours and describe what happened before you return the rental.
What should I have ready before I call with a question?
The fastest answers come from specific details. Keep this short list next to you when you call (909) 608-7699, and most questions get settled in one conversation.
- Your date and a backup date, since weekends near month-end fill first.
- The trip type: in-town, back to this lot, or one-way to another city.
- Your three biggest items and their measurements.
- Your vehicle's year, make and model if a trailer or dolly is involved.
- A photo of your hitch and plug if you are not sure what you have.
- Anything unusual: a piano, a gun safe, a motorcycle or a riding mower.
Can I ask about towing gear I do not see listed?
Yes. Ask on the call and we confirm what is available for your date. The towing equipment page gives an overview.
Do you answer U-Haul questions on Sunday?
The shop is closed Sunday. Call Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM, and call to confirm Saturday hours.
Is this the same place that fixes cars?
Yes. The U-Haul counter and the tire and auto repair shop share the lot at 1775 W Foothill Blvd. That lets you handle a rental and car care in one stop. If you are towing, we can check your tow vehicle tires and brakes while you are here, and you get a written estimate split into need and want before any work.
Do you charge to check my hitch?
The towing inspection is free with trailer and dolly rentals.
Do you publish rental prices?
No. Rental terms depend on equipment, dates and type of move. Call and we explain them before you commit.
